Of the hundreds of terpenes that are found in the hemp plant, Myrcene is the most common. In fact, a 1997 study found that Myrcene may constitute up to 50% of the terpene volume of the hemp plant. Myrcene is biphasic, meaning it may produce different effects depending on the dose. In lower concentrations, Myrcene is reported to exert a neutral or stimulating effect, while in higher concentration it may produce a sedative effect.
